Maggie Shearer, representing Cal Coast Track Club, took third in the women's invitational 5-kilometer race in 18:16 at the Cal State Fullerton Mark Covert Classic at Carbon Canyon Regional Park in Brea, Calif. Shearer, 43, helped Cal Coast Track Club place eighth overall with 216 points.
