Sam Ayala, a senior, and sophomore teammate Alexis Garcia of Cal State Fullerton finished second and third in the men's invitational 8-kilometer race at the Mark Covert Classic at Carbon Canyon Regional Park in Brea, Calif. Ayala clocked 24:52 and Garcia ran 24:54.4 for the host Titans, who earned a 58-81 victory over Pepperdine.
